It began with FUT Ones to Watch players and has continued with the reveal of several FIFA 20 Icons. The latest of those icons has Ultimate Team gamers pretty excited at the possibilities.

Didier Drogba will be in FUT 20 Icons for first time in game

In a huge announcement on EA FIFA’s Twitter on Monday (July 29), fans learned that Didier Drogba is part of the FIFA 20 Icons in Ultimate Team. He joins previously revealed FUT 20 Icons Andrea Pirlo, Ronald Koeman, and Ian Wright. Of these players, it seems Drogba is one of the most popular announcements so far. Didier Drogba’s career spanned two decades and nine different teams in various leagues. Among them were the EPL’s Chelsea, Super Lig’s Galatasaray, and USL Championship’s Phoenix Rising. Over the course of that career, he tallied 297 goals in 679 appearances. Add in the fact that he starred for the Ivory Coast national team for 12 years and he added another 65 goals there.

Basically, his addition to FIFA 20 Icons is a welcome one for fans. Plenty of fans are wanting to add this one to their Ultimate Team and the game is still over a month away. Based on previous Icons content in FIFA, gamers are already salivating over the potential for a 91 or 92 Prime Icon Drogba card.
